The Australia Day Festival organized by Sutherland Civic Rotary was held at Kareela Oval Kirrawee on Saturday 27th 2001 and was once again a great success. Rotary raised over $3000 for underprivileged children in the Shire.

Loftus Pies contributed for the third year running to the ever-popular pie-eating competition.Despite the soaring temperatures this event proved to be the most popular and hilarious. Four heats were conducted, two under twelve's and two over twelve's each competing in pie eating and pavlova facials. (No hands were allowed on the table at any time)




The finals were cancelled due to the contestants over indulging in the heats. Loftus awarded the winners of each heat with $50 cash prize. All pies were donated by Loftus Pies and Pavlovas by the Cheesecake Shop at Sylvania Heights.Coca Cola supplied the drinks for contestants.
Petey Pie was a welcome visitor from Unilever Foods and generously gave gifts and prizes to the contestants and audience.



Bill is busy preparing for his next big competition. The Sydney Royal Easter Show entries must be in by February 14, so you can imagine the tension and excitement that is building in the Loftus Kitchen.
A Champion Meat pie win this year will give Bill three in a row and another trophy to add to his long list of first prizes and gold medal.

The Woodchop Pie Shop at the Royal Easter Show Homebush will have Loftus Pies for sale in variety of popular flavours and will feature the Loftus winning entries.
